Altar Boys – Ages 8 and Up
A Tradition Where Young Men Become Part of the Process of the Divine Liturgy
Acolytes, or altar servers (often called “altar boys”), are a time-honored tradition in the Orthodox Church. In order to be involved in the Altar Ministry we have several guidelines:

Altar Servers (Acolytes) can be any boy from the age of 8 and above.

Baptized and/or Chrismated Orthodox Christian, in good standing with the Church.

Physically and mentally prepared to stand, be attentive, and respectfully serve the Lord and the clergy for the duration of the services.

Attend Regular Altar Boy meetings and retreats to learn about the services.
