Journey to the Resurrection 2017: Holy Tuesday Evening (ΜΕΓΑΛΗ ΤΡΙΤΗ)

Join us for Holy Tuesday, Apri1 17, 2015 (Των 10 Παρθένων) Του Νυμφίου for the 3rd Bridegroom Service 7:00 pm (5pm ‐ 7pm Confession)

On Holy Tuesday Evening we commemorated the anointing with myrrh, of our Lords feet by the sinful woman in the house of Simon, the leper of Bethany. Her action of love and repentance is depicted against that of Judas who betrayed the Master.

To add to the beauty and profound reverence of the service the Beautiful “Hymn of the Cassiane” is sung. It is a hymn about the sinful woman who found complete and refreshing happiness in God; the woman who discovered that the only true joy in life is the joy which one can find by renouncing sin and obtaining forgiveness from God.

“Woe to me. saith she, received the sources of my tears, O Thou Who doth gather into clouds the water of the sea. Who can trace out the multitude of my sins and the abysses of my misdeeds? O Thou whose mercy is unbounded.”
