Sacraments + Services

At Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Long Beach, worship is the heart of parish life. Through the Divine Liturgy, the Sacraments, and the prayers of the Church, we gather as one family in Christ.

Join Us for Sunday Worship

We encourage everyone to join us every Sunday morning for worship, fellowship, and community. Each week, the parish gathers for Matins and the Divine Liturgy, followed by community socials in the Betty Reckas Community Center.

The Divine Liturgy is considered the most significant ancient Christian service, not only for its words and prayers, but for its meaning. It has been at the center of Christian worship since the earliest days of the Church.

Through worship, the faithful are united in prayer, thanksgiving, and communion with God and one another.

Sunday Services

Matins 8:45 a.m.
Divine Liturgy 10:00 a.m.

All are welcome to worship with us, whether you are a longtime parishioner, a visitor, or someone discovering the Orthodox Christian faith for the first time.

The Holy Sacraments

The Sacraments are sacred moments in the life of the Church, marking our entrance into the faith, our family milestones, our remembrance of loved ones, and our participation in the grace of God.

A Living Faith, Shared in Community

From Sunday worship to the sacred milestones of life, the Church invites us into prayer, fellowship, and a deeper relationship with Christ. We welcome you to experience the beauty and tradition of Orthodox Christian worship at Assumption Long Beach.
